Risk Aversion and Mitigation:
Intervention and Turnaround
When an organization experiences significant difficulties, Meliora's priority is to pull them back from the brink, a process that sometimes requires our consultants to serve onsite for a period of time as financial or executive directors. Maintaining ongoing services has a high priority. The next priority is to fix the problems that created the crisis and return the organization to stability. Meliora then offers further training and technical assistance to build sufficient capacity to prevent future crises.
Viability: Meliora teams must also determine whether an organization can ultimately recover from the crisis. If no reasonable amount of training and technical assistance can be expected to return an organization to stable functioning, then Meliora consultants work with the organizations board and funders to ensure continuity of services during a defunding process.
With billions of new federal dollars flowing to nonprofits through federal Stimulus funds, organizations need to be as strong and reliable as possible. These services can help organizations quickly identify and solve problems. Contact us for more information.
